Manufacturer of Coffeen's Chinese Liniment, which sold for 50 cents a bottle. Goldsmith was both a businessman and a horse breeder. One of his horses, a trotter named Shanghai Mary, was famous in her day. She was also the start of the famed Hambletonian line of trotters. Goldsmith build a six sided house on Cincinnati Ave. in Lebanon, Ohio shortly after 1850.
