Merritt, Helen Hudsonville

Helen Merritt, age 88, of Hudsonville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 25, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Merritt; her son, Darrel Merritt; her grandsons, Jamie Brower, Travis Merritt; her siblings, Louise Spencer and Don Snip.

She is survived by her children, David and Sam Merritt-Shaw, Joanne and Alan Glockner, Gary and Cathy Merritt, John and Kris Merritt; her 24 grandchildren; her 29 great grandchildren; her 11 great-great grandchildren; extra son, Jim Decker; her siblings, Bob and Edna Snip, Ruth and Art Langerak, Dort and Arlan Potgeter, Bertha and Bob Timmer, Bea and Duane Potgeter; sister-in-law, Mary Snip; special friend, Shirley Merritt-Van Drie; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Helen will be held on Monday on at 1:00 P.M. at the Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with Pastor Matt Yonker officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the VanderLaan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. and on Monday from 12 to 1 P.M. at church.
