Gertrude Bluck

Gertrude Bluck, 72, of Preston, MN, died Wednesday Nov. 19 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Services were held Saturday Nov. 22 at 11 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona with the Rev. John Moran of St. Patrick's in Monona and the Rev. Robert Kulas of St. Columban's Catholic Church in Preston officiating.

Gertrude Harris Bluck was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Allamakee county and attended West Grove rural school. Feb. 5, 1930, she married Louis Hangartner. He died in 1952. She married Robert O. Bluck in Monona June 25, 1955. They owned and operated the Volney Cheese factory for many years. After moving to State Center, she worked at Marshall county care center. They moved to Preston in 1979 where she was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, three sons, Jack Hangartner, Charles City, Jerry Hangartner, Waterloo, and Greg Hangartner, West Allis, WI; four daughters, Mrs. Don (Joyce) Mork, Tacoma, WA, Mrs. Ralph (Joanne) Welch, Waukon, and Mrs. Duane (Judy) Scheffert and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Echard, both of Monona; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 brothers, Milo Harris, Lynnville, WI, Robert Harris, Postville, Virgil Harris, Roselle, IL, and Don Harris, Bishop, CA, and 4 sisters, Mrs. Harlan (Buelah) Schultz, Postville, Ruth Burnham, Sparta, WI, Hazel Pearcy, Preston, and Mrs. Marvin (Lula) Kruse, Luana.

Preceding her in death were a granddaughter and 3 brothers.

Burial was in St. Patrick's church cemetery in Monona with Thauwald Funeral Home of Preston in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were grandsons Bobby Stamper, Jason Echard, Terry Welch, Scott Mork, Johnny Micki, Troy Scheffert, Kim Welch, Todd Mork and Bret Echard.
