He was born September 5, 1938, in Floyd County, son of the late George Clinton Trammell Jr and Elizabeth Ross Trammell. He was a longtime resident of Floyd County. He was a graduate of Gaston Technical College. He had been employed as a chemical and civil engineer and by Jennings Funeral Home.

Survivors include: his wife, Diane Hobgood Trammell, to whom he was married October 4, 1958; four sons, Kurt C. Trammell, Silver Creek, Staff Sergeant G. Clinton Trammell IV, Hurlbert Field, Fla., Lieutenant Boyd Trammell, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Philip W.            [The published obituary included the following: “He was a veteran of the Navy, having served during World War II.” This is an error, perhaps picked up from information about Pat’s father. Pat was only 7 when the war ended.--KF] [Rome News-Tribune, 7 April 1995] KF-in-Georgia
