  • Ross, George, born 7/15/1760 on South Branch of Potomac River in Virginia; entered service 1780 in York District, South Carolina, where he resided, in South Carolina Regiment; resided there after Revolutionary War for few years, then to Pendleton District, South Carolina, for 5-6 years, then abt. 1795 to Montgomery County, Tennessee for 2 years, thence Dickson County, Tennessee for 13-14 years, thence abt. 1816 to Henry County, Tennessee for abt. 2 years, thence Hardin County, Tennessee, where pensioned in 1832; query letter in file 1933 from descendant Mrs. L.B. Cox, Jr., Ozona, Texas, states soldier resided in Savannah, Tennessee, where pensioned. F-S1717, R2086.
