George is the son of Elias Jackson and his first wife Elizabeth Swetnam. When Elizabeth died, Elias married a second time to Frances Tackett and they had three sons. When Elias died Elizabeth's mother brought friendly suit against the guardian of Elias' sons had by Frances Tackett in order to divide the land, thereby protecting George's inheritance. Apparently George lived with his Grandmother Martha Swetnam and his Uncle John Tackett. George's half-brothers, lived with George's step-mother, Frances Tackett Jackson.
