George trained as a carpenter but didn't enjoy it. He worked on the building of Wembley Exhibition Hall in London. He lived with his mother and step-father in August Street, Sheringham. 1911 - It is thought that George and Bertha's first home may have been in Priory Road, Sheringham. Bought a couple of horses and a trap and started a taxi business. 1913, October - moved to 21 North Street, Sheringham. Ran the taxi business from this address. 1918 - Bought his first car and carried on the taxi business until his death in 1943. |
