- ↑ "he was always cheerful and his outlook on life had made him manyfriends. Jerry had been lill for several weeks. Six week before he hadbeen operated on for appendicitis at Methodist Hospital in Fort Wayne,Indiana. He had recovered sufficiently and was sent home, apparentlycontinueing to improve. On Saturday he became seriously ill and wasagain taken to the hospital, he was operated on this visit to remove ablood clot. He failed to recover from this second operation, and died at6pm."
