Facts and Events
Notes
- From Rootsweb Message Board:
- Most of my Douglas information came from the book, "Our Kin" by Mary Denham Ackerly and Lula Eastman Jeter Parker. It's subtitled, "The Genealogies of some of the early Families who made history in the Founding and Development of Bedford County, Virginia."
- GEORGE DOUGLAS JR., b. c. 1748 in either Amherst Co. or Albemarle Co., VA. On April 13, 1769 in Albemarle Co., VA, he married MARY TUCKER and they had 8 children; Lucinda, David, Susannah, John, Murphy, Polly, Sally and William.
- Their son DAVID DOUGLAS was born Feb. 26, 1776 in Bedford Co., VA. On Nov. 12, 1801 he married SALLIE WHITE. She was born August 18, 1787. The only child mentioned in the book (that I made note of) was their daughter, NANCY DOUGLAS. Nancy was born Nov 19, 1804 and in 1824 she married JAMES SLEDD.
