In 1795, George and Ann, along with a large group of Corner kin, obtained passage on the ship Minerva and sailed to America, landing in Baltimore, Maryland about nine weeks later. The large Corner group headed to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and floated down the Ohio River and eventually arrived at Marietta, Ohio.

In the year 1803, George became ill and he and his family went to New York City seeking medical help. On their return trip home a couple of years later, George and his daughter, Minerva, died. They are said to be buried near Cookstown, Pennsylvania.

After George's death, Ann married George Nulton on March 18, 1806 in Washington County, Ohio. They had seven children.
