Notes for GEORGE CALVERT: George was born abot 1694/1700 in Stafford Co.,Va. Died in 1771 in Prince William Co.,Va. The boundary of Stafford Co. changed to allow for the creation of Pr.Wm.Co. This places George and his family in Prince Wm.Co.

George and his brother John had substantial land holdings in the area of Powell's Creek. Apparently, he and his brother John were farmers. The maiden name of George's first wife is not known. Her Christian name was Constance. They were married about 1718. Following the death of Constance, George married Ester Stone, who was the widow of Francis Stone.

George Colverd, who with "Constance my wife for and in Consideration of Love Good Will & Affection we have and hold for our Loving friend and Brother John Colverd of aforesaid County"......continues with George and Constance giving his brother John Calvert 100 acres of land, dated 16 June 1731.

A Missing Will Book of Stafford County and its Contents. by John Bailey Calvert Nicklen ° Will Book "K" covered the period from 1721 to 1730 and is now among the missing record books of this county. Anne Green married Edward Barton and they had four daughters: Constant probably married George Calvert, Sr., whose wife in 1731 was named Constanct. So who was George Calvert Sr. married to. Constanct Green?

Notes for ESTHER KIRKLAND: Ester was the widow of Fancis Stone and perhaps the daughter of Richard Kirkland. Richard Kirkland died in Fairfax Co.,Va., leaving a will dated Nov. 17, 1742; proved May 19, 1743, in which he mentions his wife Mary, his sons Robert and John Kirkland, and "All my sons and daughters." His wife Mary and George "Callburd" or "Calvert" as it was elsewhere spelled, were Executors.
