George Adam Bush Jr., a son of George Adam and Susannah Bush was born in [then] Augusta County VA about 1754* and died at Wheeling VA (WV) December 3, 1805. He married Margaret Hagle about 1778. Adam served the Colonies in the American Revolution. He is credited with 132 days service in Captain William Lowther's company of VA militia in Lord Dunmore's Ohio expedition and must have been at the Battle of Point Pleasant. He enlisted as a volunteer under Captain George Jackson in May 1781 for General Clark's expedition against the western Indians. He returned home "three weeks before the New Year." Adam served a later enlistment and is credited with 13 months service in the VA Line in his widow's pension file. (W-5960). Adam is found on John Sleeth's list of Harrison County Tithables for 1785. He was living in the Buckhannon area when Indian attacked his brother, John, April 24, 1791. The family moved to that section of Lewis County VA that was to become Gilmer County WV in 1811, where they built their cabin at the confluence of Cedar Creek and the Little Kanawha River.
