AFFLICTION
Came to Osborne and Oakley Families at the Same Hour.-- Deaths of Two Aged Men ---Ephraim Oakley and Freeman Osborne, Father and Father-in-Law of John H. Oakley.
An unusually sad coincidence were the deaths of Ephraim Oakley and Freeman Osborne which occurred today at noon with a very few moments of one another. Ephraim Oakley was the father of John H. Oakley, whose wife, Mrs. Carrie Oakley, is a daughter of Freeman Osborne.
The death of Freeman Osborne, who was 71 years of age, occurred at the residence of his son-in-law in the Stein flats.
At 12 o'clock today John Oakley, who had been at his father's bedside, telephoned to his wife that his parent had died and said that he wished her, if possible, to go over to the house. She had scarcely left the telephone after talking to her husband when her own father breathed his last.
Both decedents were old and widely known residents of this city. Freeman Osborne was a carriage maker by trade but had of late been living in retirement. Ephraim Oakley was a widely known contractor painter. The former's death was caused by Bright's disease. The latter died of liver complaint.
