Farmed 214 acres near Isaac's Creek two miles north of Gainsboro, VA.

Land grant from Lord Fairfax - "Frederick Light, Edmondson, Bryan Bruin, E van Rogers. CC - Wm Adams & Jacob Kerns. Surv. Richard Rigg."

Died intestate and his farm was divided through a number of deeds to his eight children.

He is buried in the old Quaker Cemetery, Gainsboro, VA. His home-made headstone is of red sandstone with the information "F. Light, age 84 and died the 14 day of Sep 1816" etched into the stone in a crude fashion. Right behind Frederick's stone in the next row (about 10 feet away) is a similar red home-made sandstone with "P. Light died the 30 day of November 1813" Next to Frederick's stone are the stones for Joseph and Drusilla (DeHaven) Light, son and daughter-in-law of Frederick Light, Jr.; stones of the Adams family are on either side.

Frederick and his brother Peter settled among English residents who were of the Methodist and Quaker faith. Both were married to wives named Catherine. Apparently Frederick was the purchaser of the land and head of household.

the listing in the 1790 census of Frederick County, VA includes Frederick Light as head of household 19 individuals and no slaves.

He is probably a son of Johannes Lichty who was born in Germany or Switzerland in 1682 and emigrated to America on 5 Sep 1738 arriving in Philadelphia, PA. The ship Winter Galley carried 252 Palatine passengers and was captained by Edward Paynter, Master from Rotterdam, last from Deal. The few records available on Johannes Lichty and his life in America do not indicate Frederick as a son. Johannes died intestate 19 Nov or 5 Mar 1759. Transactions regarding the land he purchased on 29 Dec 1738 does not indicate a son Frederick (Lancaster Co. Will Book E Vol 1 page 7 93).
If Frederick is a son of Johannes then he likely immigrated to the Penn Colony along with many people of the Mennonite faith.

The family settled in present day Lebanon, PA. Frederick and his brother Peter settled on a 214 acre farm 2 miles north of the present day Gainesboro, VA.
