Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

  • Page 163 - Frederick Havenor, 19 acres, South Fork of the Potomac. Adjoining his own land, Robert Davis. Dec. 18, 1769. [Abstract of Land Grant Surveys, 1761-1791, Augusta & Rockingham Counties, Virginia, by Peter Cline Kaylor, pg. 59]. (Note: this record of Frederick Havener acquiring land in 1769 most likely puts Frederick's birthdate "before 1748", since he would have had to have been an adult to engage in this transaction).
  • Page 475.--20th August, 1770. Robert Davis and Sarah to Frederick Havoner, £10, 33 acres on South Fork of South Branch of Potowmack, part of 327 acres whereon said Davis lives; said Hevener's corner. Delivered: David Steel, per order, 28th September, 1817.

Information on Frederick Hevener (Havener)

{geni:about_me} Frederick is the only of Nicholas' children for whom there does not appear to be a baptism record nor a firm date and place ofbirth. The three older children in the family were born in Tulpehocken Township and christened Christ Lutheran Church nea rStouchsburg, Tulpehocken Township, Berk Co., PA. In the late 1750 Nocholas purchased two tracts of land at Rehresburg,Tulpehocken Township. This new Haeffner home was some 6 to 8miles north of the previous family home at Tulpehocken. Thefirst church at Rehresburg was known as either Altoloe or Altalaha Lurtheran Church and formly dedicated in 1857. However, the records of the Rev. Casper Stover show the baptism of Ann Elizabetha Troester at Altahoe Church on July 1, 1753 with thesponsors of Nicholas Haeffner and wife. In the absence of a baptismal record for Frederick in Pennsylvania it may well be assumed that he was born after the family move in 1750 and prior to the first recorded Baptism atthe Rehresburg church in 1753. The family appears to have left for Virginia before there more recorded baptisms or other record of the family at Rehresburg.
