    Obituary from local newspaper: Frank C. Hawkins, 68, widely known retired Rogers businessman and educator, died Sunday in a Houston, Texas, hospital following an illness of several months. Mr. Hawkins had been in Houston since last November. Mr. Hawkins was born at Larned, Kan., the son of Francis C. and Lizzie Miller Hawkins. He had been a resident of Rogers since 1900. Mr. Hawkins was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and taught there for a time after his graduation. He also served as a teacher in Drury College, Springfield, Mo. Mr. Hawkins also taught in the schools of Northwest Arkansas, including ten years as a member of the Rogers High School faculty. He retired from the Rogers teaching staff about two years ago. Mr. Hawkins also served several terms as a member of the Rogers City Council. He was connected with the Veterans Administration in southern Louisiana following World War I. Mr. Hawkins maintained an intensive interest in baseball and was an umpire of the old Arkansas-Missouri League. Funeral service will be held at the Callison-Porter chapel at 10 a.m., Tuesday, with the Rev. Marius Lindloff, rector of the Fayetteville Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery, Rogers, Benton, Arkansas under the direction of the Callison-Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian V. Hawkins; two sons, Frank C. Hawkins, Jr., Indianapolis, Indiana, and Harold Hawkins, Houston, Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Miller, of Rogers.
