This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of April anno Domini eighteen hundred and two Between Frances S. Browning late of Bourbon County in the State of Kentucky attorney in fact for Thomas McClanahan Senr. of said County of the one part and Jacob Boshong Shananhdoe County in the State of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said Frances S. Browning as attorney in fact for the said Thomas McClanahan for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds Virginia currency to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Beshong at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof doth forever exonerate, acquit and discharge the said Jacob Beshong his heirs, Executors Admr..or assignees by these presents Hath granted, bargained, sold aliened enforced released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain, sell, alien, enforce, release and confirm unto the said Jacob Beshong his heirs Executors Adm.ors. and assignees a certain tract or parcel of land lying on Mulkeys mountain in the said County of Culpeper adjoining the land of William Whitledge, Jesse Penrose, John Calvert, and the lands of James Hickman the said land being part of a tract conveyed to said McClanahan by John Frogg and Allen MCCray by deed recorded in the said County Court of Culpeper and is bounded as follows (Viz). Whereas, the boundaries of the aforesaid tract of land cannot be ascertained; be it known that the said tract of land now intended to be bargained and sold to the said Beshong is the Residue of the aforesaid tract of Land conveyed to the said Thomas McClanahan by the said John Frogg and Allen McCray and containing one hundred and seventy five acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the rights, members, liberties, profits privileges, emoluments, and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the Reversion, and Remainders Rents, Issues, and profits thereof: also all Estate Right Title, Interest, use, possession property, claim and Demand whatsoever of the said Thomas McClanahan his said attorney or either of them in Law Equity or otherwise howsoever, of into, and out of all and singular the premises and every part thereof To Have and to hold all singular the before mentioned tract of land with the premises and appurtenances to him the said Jacob Beshong his heirs Executors, Adm.on and assignees Forever. And the said Frances S. Browning as attorney in fact for the said Thomas McClanahan doth convenant and agree to and with the said Jacob Beshong by there presents that all the before described tracts of Land with the appurtenances to the said Jacob Beshong his heirs Ex..ors adm..ors, and assignees free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons Whatsoever be will warrant and Forever defend by these presents In Witnesseth whereof the said Frances S. Browning hath set his hand affixed his seal hereunto the day and year first above Written.

At a Court held for Culpeper County the 19 day of July 1802, "This Indenture of Bargain and sale from Frances S. Browning to Jacob Beshong was partly proved by the oaths of Edward Pendleton and Charles Browning two of the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be Certified and at a Court held for said County the 20th day of June 1803 This said Indenture was fully proved by the oath of Anthony Hughes another Witness thereto and ordered to be Recorded."
