WILL OF FRANCIS CARTER
Baldwin County, Georgia
In the name of God amen, I Francis Carter of said county and state being weake in body but through mercy of a sound mind and memory calling to mind that it is appointed for all men to die, I therefore constitute ordain and make this my last will and testament in the following manner:
Item. I will that the land I now live on be sold at public sail and the money arising from the said land I will that it be equally divided among my wife and my eight children: my wife Margret Carter and my sons Isaac, John, Joseph, and Francis Carter and my daughters Ruthey, Easter, Polly and Nancy jointly and severally. . .
And after my just debts being paid, I will and bequeath all my moveable property Horses, Cattle, Hogs, and all kinds of stock household and citching [kitchen ?} furniture I give to my wife, my son Francis Carter and daughters Polly and Nancy to be equally divided among them. And I also appoint my sons Isaac and Joseph Carter to be my Executors to act on behalf of my wife and heirs in all respects.
In witness whereof I the said Francis Carter hath hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st of June 1813.
