"Francis Alger was presumably the son of Robert Algore of Nazeing, who left a will dated and proved in 1557, naming wife Joane; son Francis and daughter Elyn, both under 21; sister Isabell and brother George. Richard Campe was to be overseer. John Cramphorn and Nicholas Campe were among the witnesses. … The will of Francis Alger, written on 24 May 1582, mentioned wife Lette and unnamed children, evidently under age. Francis made 'coussen' Nicholas Alger and his unnamed father-in-law the overseers. The will was witnessed by Goddard Hall and Richard Hall, and was proved on 5 July 1582 by the relict Lettece Algor."
