    Frances M. Ellis, 97, of Ogden, and formerly of Centerville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Ogden Manor.

    Frances Mae Nixon was born on October 6, 1915, in Lovilia, Iowa, the daughter of James and Letha(Enix)Nixon. She attended Lovilia Schools.

    On September 16, 1940, Frances was united in marriage to Henry W. Ellis in Red Oak, Iowa. The couple established their home in Centerville where Frances worked at Seller's Photography Studio for seven years and later owned and operated Ellis Tropical Fish. Henry passed away in March of 1994. In September of 1998, Frances moved to the Ogden Manor.

    Frances enjoyed dominoes, word finds, canasta, and bridge. In her earlier years she was active in 4-H and enjoyed horseback riding, Photography, sewing, crocheting, and cooking for family and friends.

    Among the survivors are her daughter, Joyce(Doug)Martin of Boone, Iowa; son, Terry Ellis of Yukon, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter, Savannah Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry W. Ellis, one brother, Elmer Nixon and one sister, Grace Chance.

    Funeral services will be held 10 am Thursday, April, 25, 2013, at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be 3 pm Thursday, at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home.
