OBITUARY - Floyd Meyer Iowa Falls Times-Citizen 09/28/2000 Oct. 26, 1914-Sept. 24, 2000

ELDORA - Floyd E. Meyer, of Eldora, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Eldora. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. at Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls, with burial in Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Rev. Floyd Caselton will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post No. 188 of Iowa Falls.

Floyd was born Oct. 26, 1914, at Iowa Falls, to Walter and Bessie Turner Meyer. He attended rural Franklin County schools and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed as a farm laborer in the Eldora and Steamboat Rock area.

He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Weidmer and Margaret Ackerson; two sons, Ralph and Floyd Meyer; eight grandchidren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Walter; a daughter, Wilma Bessman; two sisters, Sarah and Viola; and two brothers, Harry and Russell.
