Obit--Fay McLuen, son of John and Ellen Williams McLuen, was born at Dale City, Iowa on August 22, 1868 at the age of 89 years, five months and 26 days. He was the oldest of five children, all of whom except two half-brothers have preceded him in death. He lived all of his life in Guthrie county. He lived on farms until 1918 and since that time has lived in Stuart. On Oct. 17, 1887 he was united in marriage to Loretta Lockmiller. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive. Hi wife preceded him in death on September 13, 1950. He is survived by three sons, Ed and Charles of Stuart and Guy of Garwin, Iowa; also one daughter, Beulah Stanton of Adel. There are seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; also two half-brothers, John and William Richard of Guthrie Center besides many nieces, nephews and friends. Fay was a man of pleasing personality. His congenial nature won friends in every community where he lived. He was especially noted for his generosity and was always giving away fruit and vegetables for which he would take nothing in return. In time of sickness there were no truer friends and neighbors than Fay and his wife. Funeral services were held from the Bufkin Funeral Home Friday afternoon, Feb. 21 with Rev. Earnest A Smith officiating. Music was presented by Robin Lawson. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Ethel Wise, Mrs. Lucille Mitchell and Mrs. Burton Paullin. Casketbearers were Claus Horn, Tom Cooley, Wyman Tassell, Dan Hill, Ray Potts and Dan Boyd. Interment was in the Morrisburg cemetery. [This was in the newspaper probably Stuart Herald]
