    Son of John and Esther (Waldo) Weld, of Pomfret, CT. Grandson of Joseph Weld. Ordained on Nov. 17, 1762 as paster of the First Congregational Church in Braintree. He served there until about 1805, when his health declined. He married four times: Anna Weld, d. 1774 at 31; Hannah Farnham, d. 1778 at 27; Abigail Greenleave, d. 1788 at 36; and Mary Howland [Fuller], who survived him. He had children with all four.
