"The submarine torpedo boat Plunger, building for the United States Navy, was launched at noon Saturday from the yard of the Columbian Iron Works, Locust Point. About 2,000 persons witnessed the ceremony. Miss Ernestine Wardwell, daughter of Colonel E. H. Wardwell, christened the boat by breaking a bottle of wine across her bow as she started down the ways. Mr. W. O. Breckenbaugh sang three verses of a song composed by himself to the tune of 'Maryland. My Maryland,' and which was dedicated to the boat, the inventor, Mr. John P.
