Erasmus Calkins [#791], s/o David Calkins [#271] and Chloe Colton, b. Wilbraham 3 Jan 1807, d. 10 Oct 1841, m. 17 Mar 1839 Maria Clark. Distribution of estate 2 Nov 1841 to widow Maria Calkins and children Erwin: Erskine & Elsie Amelia ["perhaps they were triplets"].
[Note: Clearly this source missed an earlier marriage, as Erwin E. Calkins d. Wilbraham in 1848 age 17, so born about 1831. The comment about triplets suggests, and this source presents three children, but the gravestone for Erwin E, suggest there were only two both having given and middle names specified in the probate document. This is born out by the 1840 census in Springfield which shows one male 5-10 and one female 5-10, besides the husband and wife. It also suggests both were children of the first wife, and they are too old to be children of the second wife, and as Springfield records show no births between the census in 1840 and the death of the father about a year later.]
