1881 Canadian Census George Ormsby 59, a Farmer born in Ireland lived in Oro Township, Simcoe, Ontario with his wife Jane 52, born in Ireland and their children Emma 21, Margaret E. 19, Sarah A 16. Alferd 14, Arthur 12 and Ida M. 9, all born in Ontario. Their religion was Independent.

1901 Canadian Census Richard W Metcalf, 44, born 15 May 1856 in Ontario, is living in Oro, Simcoe East with his wife Emma J, 41, and Emma L Banner, 20, and Loria [sic] Banner, 11. Richard is a hardware merchart. His religion is listed as Methodist.

1911 Canadian Census Richard G Metcalf, 55, born May 1856 in Ontario, is living with his wife Emma J, 51, in Oro, Simcoe North.

n.d. George Ormsby’s log house and barn were in the middle of the big field, south of the present barn. Two smaller frame houses were built alongside to the south of the main house. Emma and Dick Metcalfe lived in one while he taught at Leigh’s Corners. (p. 286)
