Emma B Grover inherited property in Topsham from her grandfather John Grover. In January of 1894, her mother and guardian, Annie Grover, widow of John's son Ezra petitioned the Sagadahoc County Probate Court to allow her to accept an offer of $100 for the land and buildings, "which offer it is for the interest of all concerned immediately to accept." The offer is from Eliza T Grover, and "the proceeds of sale to be put out on interest for the benefit of said minor."[7] Eliza T Grover is Eliza Jane (Trufant) Grover, John's second wife and widow.

45 Pine St

An article in the Bath Independent, 8 Aug. 1935, describes 45 Pine Street's 6 generations of home ownership:

House Now Occupied by Sixth Generation

"The dwelling at 45 Pine street in which Mr. and Mrs. Francis Norton and their two children, Susan and Edith, make their home, has been the abode of six successive generations. It was the home of Mrs. Brina Marr who was followed by her daughter, Mrs. Drusilla Jackson, wife of Robert Jackson, and in succession by Mrs. Jackson's daughter, Mrs. Rhoda A. Grover, all of whom are now deceased. Now living there is Mrs. Emma Colby, widow of Henry R. Colby; also her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Norton, wife of Francis, and their two daughters. Six successive generations in one house are unusual, but when they are all descended from the female side of the family the occurrence is rare and has been of special interest to the descendants of Brina Marr."
