RGMoffat - Note that Emma was not listed in the 1861 census. The 1871 census lists her as 9 years old. Perhaps the first Emma died prior to Apr 12, 1861, and a second Emma was born a year or two later. This is my current working hypothesis.

In the 1901 Census, Emma Lloyd is boarding with the James Thompson family. She is enumerated as "married" even though the divorce from Marshall Lloyd had already occurred.

Marshall Davies LloydS11 wrote on March 16, 2003: Just hearsay, but I know that Emma stayed in Meaford and when my folks would visit they would see her and always thought she was quite wronged. Marshall went on to marry Margaret Isadora "Dora" and Henrietta (Hammer) Pollen "Polly." Dora successfully sued the estate (NYT article) and Polly married again after MB died (a man named Merrill). She is buried in the Mausoleum in Menominee.

She is buried, not uncommonly, in the LLOYD plot beside her first father-in-law, John LLOYD...The J.J. JOHNSTON plots were already full by 1935...
