Elzina Ice Hood, widow of Hezekiah Hood, died at her family residence in Folsom, W. Va., October 5, 1939. Mrs. Hood was a descendant of the famous "Indian Billy" Ice who was born in Holland in 1725. He was thrice married and the father of 25children. Adam B.Ice, the youngest child was the father of John Ice, who married Malinda Straight and became the father of seven children, of whom Mrs. Hood was the last surviving member. She married Hezekiah Hood in 1879 and they lived nearJacksonburg,W. Va. until they purchased the homeplace from Henry Talkington and moved to their log cabin in 1883, and started the Hood General Store, which has been in continued operation to this day, now being operated by a son, Fleming Hood.Mrs. Hood was the mother of three sons, Fountain of Marietta, Ohio; Freeman and Fleming, both of Folsom.
