Elmer was 8 when the photo was taken. His father was born in Illinois and his mother in Germany. His father was a carpenter and in 1900 and 1910, the family was living on 136th Street in the Riverdale area of Chicago. In 1920, Elmer was living on Lincoln Ave in Dolton, but I lose him after that.
