- Obit of Elizabeth Shaefer, Elizabeth (Wyers) Shaefer, retired teacher, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her home in Norristown. She was 81. She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ [repeated name] Radiant Chapter 96 Order of the Eastern Star, the Montgomery County Historical Society, the Plymouth Meeting Historical Socieety, the Norristown Camera Club, the Audubon Society, the Octave Club of Norristown and the Norristown Preservation Society. Mrs. Shaefer was wife of the late Everett E. Shaefer. She attended the former A.D. Eisenhower High School in Norristown and West Chester State Teachers College. Born July 8, 1919, in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Herbert S. and Ruth (Pugh) Wyers. Surviving are several cousins. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bailey Funeral Chapel Ltd, 815-17 W. Marshall St., Norristown. The Rev. Martha Boyer will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in West Norristown. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
