Disputed Lineages

Name often given as Elizabeth Matthews, family as Family:Edward Mathews and Elizabeth Nashe (1) but uncited. Various IGI records cite a marriage of William Tuttle and Elizabeth Southcote as 19 Dec 1626 in Exeter, Devon or 1 Jan 1626 in Ringstead.

    On 10 June 1685, the last will and testament of "Mrs. Elizabeth Tuttle widow, late of Newhaven deceased," was presented at New Haven court, but was deemed defective and so not recorded [New Haven County Court 1:154]. The dispute over the estate was not concluded until 10 November 1690 [New Haven County Court 1:154, 156, 158, 186].
