"In her will, dated 23 July 1677 and proved [blank] November 1677, 'Elisabeth Rose of Newhaven widow' bequeathed to 'my two sons John Potter & Sam[ue]ll Potter twenty shillings apiece'; to 'my son John Parker my house he lives in with all my land & meadow'; to 'my daughter Brookes twenty shillings'; to 'my daughter Hall my small Bible'; to 'my daughter Cooke my best suit of apparel'; to 'all my grandchildren twelve pence apiece'; residue to be 'equally divided between my three daughters Mary, Hope & Lydia'; 'my two sons John Potter & John Parker [to be] joint executors' [NHPR 1:1:176]. The inventory of the estate of 'Elizabeth Rose widow late of Newhaven deceased,' taken 2 August 1677, totalled £49 11s. 9d., with no real estate included [NHPR 1:1:1761."
