  2.   12. John de Cochran, 'dominus ejufd, who succeeded his grandfather, and was infeft and seized in the lands of Cochrane, Corseford, &c. anno 1498. He obtained a licence under the great seal, from king James IV, empowering him to dispose of his lands of Easter-cochran, in Renfrewfire, or the lands of Pitfour in Perth-shire, dated at Edinburgh, 31st, October 1509.
    He accordingly sold part of his lands of Cochran, to James archbishop of Glasgow, anno 1519, by a deed, to which is seal is appended, bearing three boars heads erazed, and circumfscribed, "figillim Johannis de Cochran, &c. (Crawford's peerage, pg 119.).
    He died anno 1538, leaving issue by Elizabeth, daughter of John Semple of Fulwood, his wife, a son and successor, John Cochran of that Ilk.

    Also I have other sources listing Elizabeth Semple, dau of John of Fulwood as wife of John Cochrane. They are in several charters of the "Charter Chest of the Earldom of Dundonald" The first being dated 1486. How can I find a marriage date or death date on them?

    Charter No. 26 states: A Charter granted by Thomas Semple, "Dominus de Elliotson" and sheriff of Renfrew, to John Cochrane, son to Robert Cochrane, and to Elizabeth Semple, his spouse of the land called Coorsford; and that upon a resignation of Allan Cochrane' goodsire, to the said John, dated 20th January 1486.

    Charter No. 9 states: A Charter of John Cochrane of that Ilk of the tweny shilling lands of Craigtoun; the ten shilling lands of Sandflate, in favour of John Cochrane and his son, and apparent heir, and Elizabeth Semple, daughter of John Semple of Fulwood, his spouse, dated 5th April 1529.
