Elizabeth Newborn was baptised on 19th March 1780 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, daughter of Mary Newborn, formerly Lambert, and her husband Edward Newborn.

On 8th July 1805, aged 25, Elizabeth was married at Barnack to a blacksmith called Thomas Jones. He was originally from Geddington, but at the time of their marriage was living at Helpston, a couple of miles east of Barnack. After their marriage they lived in Helpston for a while, having two children baptised there in 1806 and 1807.

Some time between 1807 and 1813 the family left Helpston and moved to another nearby village, Glinton. They went on to have another four children baptised at Glinton between 1813 and 1823. Thomas was described as a blacksmith on all the baptism records for his children baptised at Glinton.

Back in Barnack, Elizabeth's father died in 1822 and her mother died in 1832.

The 1841 census finds Elizabeth and Thomas living in Glinton, along with a young girl called Rosetta Jones, who may have been a granddaughter. The 1851 census finds Thomas and Elizabeth again in Glinton, with Thomas still working as a blacksmith into his seventies.

Thomas died at Glinton on 28th February 1861. He was about 83 years old. The census taken a few weeks later finds Elizabeth living alone in Glinton.

Elizabeth died at Glinton on 29th May 1862, aged 82.
