92-93 (on 14 May 1676 “fower children of o[u]r sister Elizabeth Haskall deceased … Roger, Samuell, Hanah & Sarah were baptized”). The reason she was recorded with the surname of her first husband is that she joined the Beverly church as “Elizabeth Haskall” on 23 June 1667 [Records of the First Church in Beverly, 3].

On 31 March 1634 “John Hardy” was on a list of passengers sailing from Weymouth, co. Dorset, on the Recovery of London to New England. Based on this location the records of this family we recently discovered.

The following records from the parish registers of Bridport, co. Dorset, are almost certainly for the immigrant’s family as they meet the criteria mentioned above.

    Baptisms
28 October 1613 Richard the sonne of John Hardie
5 September 1619 Josephe the sonne of John Hardie
25 November 1621 Elyzabeth the daughter of John Hardie

    Marriage
11 January 1612/3 John Hardie and Elizabeth Swasye

    Burial
8 November 1613 Richard the sonne of John Hardie

Note the will of “Elizabeth Harding dated 7 August 1654 gave to "Joseph Swasy" apparently a close relative.
