After her father's death in 1815, Elizabeth Dugger apparently joined her sister Mary Dugger Callahan and her family in Rutherford Co., NC.

On 12 Aug 1817 William McKinney obtained a marriage bond in Rutherford Co., NC to marry "Betey" Dugger. J. Callihan and Willis McKinney were bondsmen.

They were listed on the 1820 census in Rutherford Co., NC, next to Burnis McKinney.
