  6. Edward and Olive (Irby) Bulkeley had a daughter Elizabeth born about 1579, as per the information in the citation. If this was the Elizabeth who married first Richard Whittingham (between Aug 1606, when she was called Mistress Elizabeth Bulkeley in a will and Mar 1615 when Whittingham wrote his will) and then Atherton Hough (in 1617/18), she would have been somewhat on the older side at her first marriage (at least 27), and about 40 or 41 at the birth of her son Samuel in 1620 (GMB 2:1008). This is not impossible. Alternately, it is possible that the Elizabeth born in 1579 died and another Elizabeth was born some years later (say 1585). However, there is no obvious reason for rejecting a birth year of 1579 and supposing that there was another Elizabeth in this family.
