Elizabeth was the granddaughter of John Brent and Joan le Eyre, granddaughter of Robert de Brent and Elizabeth Denebaud, g granddaughter of Robert de Brent and Claricia de la Ford, gg granddaughter of Sir Adam de la Ford, and of Robert de Brent and Isabella de Monacute. All were prominent citizens and the Monacute family (also spelled Montagu), were Barons and Earls from the 1300's onward, and is still a noted family today.
