Name Elisabeth Dryburgh
Gender Female
Birth? 1754 Fife, Scotland
Christening? 17 Mar 1754 Dysart, Fife, Scotland
Marriage 26 Feb 1773 Dysart, Fife, Scotlandto George Lumsden

Betty DRYBERR was christened 17mar1754 at Dysart, dau of Betty (scotsfind). Betty DRYBURGH married George LUMSDEN 26feb1773 at Dysart and 28feb1773 at Falkland (scotsfind.org). George was a merchant in Falkland, Fife. George Lumsden and Elizabeth Dryburgh/Dryber/Dryborough had children (vital records of the British Isles). Elizabeth Dryburgh was maybe b. 1757 and d. 1808 (S. Lumsden).

Elisabeth/Betty was presumably daughter of James DRYBURGH, who died 1800. James Dryburgh married, presumably 1st Elisabeth AITKEN (information, A. Lumsden) 26jun1747 at Dysart (IGI, scotsfind.org). James married presumably 2nd Janet THOMSON (d. 1808). James Drybrough, tobacconist in Dysart, was buried 31jan1800 at Dysart, St. Denis (Fife FHS records). Mrs. Draybrough, widow of James Draybrough, late tobacconist in Dysart was buried 11jun1808 at Dysart, St. Denis (Fife FHS). A James Dryburgh married Janet Thomson 24jul1770 at Kirkcaldy, Fife (scotsfind.org, IGI); the date is far too late for Betty's father. From Fife FHS, Dysart deeds: Dryburgh, James, merchant tobacconist in Dysart, Disp and Settlement in favour of spouse, Janet Thomson, and grandsons, James, John and William Lumsden (children of George Lumsden, sometime merchant in Falkland, and Betty Dryburgh, his daughter) 15sep1804 (B21/5/4 Pp 157-64). James had a sister Janet Dryborough who married William Aitken, tailor, Falkland, Fife. William Aitken predeceased his wife, who presumably died bef 1783. Elizabeth inherited from her aunt Janet Aitken nee Dryburgh. From Fife FHS, Falkland deeds: Aitken, Janet: relict of dec. William Aitken, tailor in Falkland Disposition and Assignation in favour of Betty Dryburgh, only daughter of James Dryburgh, merchant in Dysart, 12jun1783. From “Decennial indexes to the services of heirs in Scotland 1700-1859”: Reg. 10jul1783 Elizabeth Lumsden, (or Dryburgh) in Falkland, to her aunt Janet Aitken, widow of William Aitken, merchant there, heir gen.
