    "Eliphalet Bristol (Henry 1) b 2 Oct. 1679 New Haven, Ct. d Dec. 1757. … He was one of the original proprietors of Waterbury, Ct. but never lived there. His will probated 1757/8 New Haven. He took the freeman's oath 30 Apr. 1717 New Haven; Dec. 1717 chosen 'viewer and hayward for the old field west side'; 1730 was tithing man for West Haven; 1720 a surveyor, and in 1718 a 'lister'."
