Elihu, Dea., [received by letter] Nov. 13, 1825 [died] July 5, 1827'

Newman Congregational Church was established in Rehoboth, Massachussets (about 1641), and, when Rehoboth was divided in 1812, it was in the part that became Seekonk, Massachusetts. In 1862, the part of Seekonk that included Newman Congregational Church became part of East Providence, Rhode Island. (http://www.rihs.org/mssinv/Mss584.htm)
While it is possible that Elihu was a member of Newman Congregational Church while living in Rehoboth, it is more likely that he was living in what was Seekonk in 1827, especially since that is where his wife died in 1816.
