"… Eleazer Burn ham, born at Ipswich, Mass., 5 Sept. 1678, died at Norwich, in 1744, son of Thomas and Lydia (Pingree) Burnham of Ipswich.
'In 1704, Eleazer Burnham applied for liberty to set up a fulling-mill upon the stream that runs into Shetucket River by the Chemical Spring.' [Caulkins' 'History of Norwich' (1874), p. 98.]
The will of Eleazer Burnham, made 13 Oct. 1743, proved 17 July 1744, gave his real estate to his two sons, Daniel and Eleazer; to his daughter Lydia, £100, and the privilege of living in the west room of the house while she is unmarried; to daughter Mary, wife of Joshua Pryor, £100; to the child of Elizabeth Lothrop dec'd, £80; to Sarah, wife of Stephen Roth, £100; sons Daniel and Eleazer to be Executors. The daughters gave receipts for their portions, and Elizabeth Lothrop gave her receipt, 4 Dec. 1748, for her legacy from her grandfather's estate. [Probate Rec. New London, Conn., E-196.]"
