  4.   Elbert H. Ross Dies Suddenly
           Elbert H. Ross, 38, for many years connected with the Tubize-Chatillon Corporation as a skilled mechanic, died suddenly this morning at 2 o’clock in a local hospital. He was taken ill several days ago and removed to the hospital this week.
           A native of Floyd County, Mr. Ross was the son of Mrs. C. B. Ross and the late C. B. Ross, who died three years ago. He was a member of the Tubize Baptist Church and an Odd Fellow for many years.
           Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o’clock at the Tubize Church, with the Rev. J. K. Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
           Serving as pallbearers will be W. L. Jones, H. M. Jones, J. I. Jones, H. R. Jones, L. A. Jones and P. E. Jones, all of Rome.
           Surviving Mr. Ross, besides his mother, are his wife, the former Miss Bessie Jones; one son, Walter H. Ross; one daughter, Louise Ross; five sisters, Mrs. P. C. Morris, and Mrs. H. C. Norris, Atlanta; Mrs. August Kokal, of Marietta; Mrs. Clinton Trammell Jr, and Miss Virginia Ross, of Rome; four brothers, John W. Ross, of Atlanta; J. Ben Ross, Lewis Ross and Lamar Ross, of Rome; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Simmons, of Atlanta; his aunts, Miss Connie Ross and Miss Jennie Ross, of Rome.   5.   Rites Conducted For Elbert Ross
           Rites for Elbert H. Ross, mechanic at Tubize-Chatillon for many years, were held Saturday afternoon at the Tubize Baptist Church under the direction of the Rev. S. H. Pendley and the Rev. J. K. Kelly. Interment followed in East View Cemetery.
           A quartet of Mrs. A. R. Griffith, T. E. Clemmons, J. W. Davis, E. W. Keith and accompanied by Mrs. Homer Smith, rendered the following musical selections at final rites: “Sometime We’ll Understand,” and “Christian’s Goodnight.” The firemen’s quartet of Tubize sang, “I’ll Meet You In The Morning.”
           Mr. Ross died suddenly Friday morning in a local hospital following a brief illness. [Rome newspaper, February 1941] KF-in-Georgia
