Early Land Acquisition in Virginia
Acquisition of Land from Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants:
- H-736: Edward Watts of Culpeper County, 90 acres in said County in Robinson Fork of Rappahannock & on South Fork of Rapadon River. Surv. Richard Young. Adj. Watts's land. 13 Nov. 1756. [Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants, 1742-1775, Vol. 2, Gertrude E. Gray, pg. 90].
Disposition of Land from Chalkley's:
- Page 326.--17th May, 1752. Edward Watts and Elizabeth, of Culpeper, to John Magret, 125 acres. Mouth of Hawksbill of Shanando; 200 acres sold by Jacob Stover to Jacob Castle; Castle sold 75 acres to Jacob Coger, 26th June, 1740, and 125 acres to Elizabeth Downs, present wife of Edward Whats. 33d September, 1742.
