Looking for the parents of Edward Small of Harwich, who married Hannah Cole. Edward was probably born about 1740. Descendants of Edward Small

I have sent you several pages off the net to answer your questions. Edward's parents are Benjamin Small and Patience Baker. They were married 29 June 1726, where I do not know. They had 10 children. Benjamin Small's parents are Edward Small and Mary Woodman. Benjamin Small was born 1700 Chatham, Barn, MA. Edward Small's parents are: Francis Small and Elizabeth Leighton. Edward Small was born 1654 Cumberland Co, ME. Your Edward Small that married Hannah Cole were married 24 Sep 1761 Harwich, MA and they were the parents of 10 children too.

Here is a great site that Nancy sent me (above, second Nancy) with lots of information about the descendants of Francis Small. Your Mary Small was the brother of my Edward Small. Edward married Hannah Cole, and had a son Isaac Small, among others. Isaac Small married Sally Sears, and had a number of children. He was a salt gatherer in Yarmouth (based on his probate inventory), but died leaving his wife with a large family and young children. She eventually left for Pawtucket, RI with three girls, and died there in 1854. Her daughter Hannah Smalley married Joseph Allison McCoy; their daughter Julia McCoy is my ggrandmother; she was born in Goshen, Orange, NY. It turns out that Sally Sears brother Richard Sears was a seacaptain, and moved next door to William McCoy in Goshen; somehow that connected the McCoy and Smalley families, and led to William McCoy's son Joseph to move to Pawtucket and marry Hannah Smalley.
