Edward1 Porter (AdrianA, RobertB) was baptized at Ware, Hertfordshire, 5 March 1608/9, and he died at Boston, Massachusetts, in 1677, between 28 July when he made his will and 3 August when it was proved. … At the baptism of his second child in 1635, he was called Edward Porter, chandler. Edward Porter immigrated to New England in 1636, with his wife and two children. On 17 May 1637 he became a freeman, and he was a Deputy from Roxbury in 1638/9. His name appears on a list of persons and estates in Roxbury, 1634-43, as holding 27 acres. In his will dated 28 July 1677 and proved 3 August 1677, Edward Porter mentioned his wife, Rhoda, and his four children.
