About Edward Gardia

Edward Joseph Gardia was born 22 October 1924 in California. His mother's maiden name according to his California Birth Record, was Sparks. Edward enlisted into the United States Army on 25 September 1943 in Los Angeles County, California and served his country during World War II. Edward entered the food industry in 1946 when he joined wholesale grocer Certified Grocers of California in 1946 as an order boy.
He worked in Certified's Advertising Department, as a contact man in the Member Services Department, as Non-Foods Division Manager, and in July 1965 he was appointed Certified's Director of Purchasing for the Wholesale Co-op.

Edward passed away on 4 June 1968 and was survived by his wife and five children who resided with him in Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California.
