Everette was from Colorado.His father was A professor At the College in Boulder.They were very wealthy before the depression as his father bought up gold mines.They had servants etc.and lived in A fine house. His mother was related to the Hershey chocolate people.Once we visited the cabin where his family stayed during the summer.There was A slot machine and A gold mine that looked perfect.Also there was A peat moss swamp .Everette never had the ambition that it took to be rich even though he had all the necessary tools at his disposal. He had 2 daughters by A previous marriage,however I don't believe they were his.The oldest one's name was Joan and she was married to A compulsive gambler.I have never seen anything like it. His sister lived in Colorado also and was married to A blind man.They owned A liquor store there.Everette was good to my mother.Whatever else can be said about him he more than made up for it by giving our mother peace and rest in her last years. For that I am grateful. Mom and Everette were always trying something new.They had the first television I ever saw.He loved to go to Los Vegas and the crap tables were his forte.Mom would stand at his elbow and take everything he won.After his was all gone he would try everyway to get some of his winnings back.He did everything but he never got angry.She never budged and consequently they carpeted their house and many other things with his winnings. They once sent for A sure thing system to beat the horse races. He was A man of many hobbies.He collected coins, rocks you name it ,he knew about it.He had books books books.After mom died he went back to Colorada.Married again and died there.He had his weaknesses but I never saw him angry with my mother.Never once.
