    Esteemed Cooper Woman Victim of Long Illness
    The death of Mrs. Edna Rhodes, well known and highly respected woman of Franklin Township, brought sorrow to countless people. She passed away late Sunday evening at the Carroll hospital where she was taken the week before for treatment for cancer. Funeral services occurred Wednesday afternoon at the house of her brother, Leslie Griswold, with Rev. C.W. Hohanschelt giving the sermon and burial in the Cooper cemetery.
    Edna B Rhoades, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Griswold, was born May 28, 1881 near Cooper, Iowa and passed from this life Feb. 26, following an illness of several months. With the exception of a few years spent in Colorado, her entire life was spent on the farm east of Cooper.
    She was united in marriage to Clyde Rhoades on Feb. 3, 1909. To this union one son, Harold, was born. In addition, to her son, Mrs. Rhoades leaves her brother, L. W. Griswold of Cooper.
